Leaving aside the name which sounds like something a German (no offense) would say to an English bloke that stole his parking space, Nissan's Geneva motorshow-bound Esflow concept is a very interesting proposal for a pure-electric sports coupe. It uses the Leaf's battery technology but with a lot more juice from the electric motors that motivate the rear wheels and a dramatic coupe styling. The new fourth-generation Quest minivan has arrived at Nissan's U.S. dealerships with prices ranging from $27,750 for the entry level S to $41,350 for the fully equipped LE model. Keep in mind that none of the above prices (*) include destination and handling charges. Back in 2009, Nissan GT-R owners had to face an odd dilemma: even though the car came with a launch control system, using it meant voiding the warranty. In the ensuing controversy, the Japanese maker simply dropped it for the 2010 model year, stating that it doesn’t want to deal with the “warranty nightmare” anymore.However, the launch control is back on the 2012 GT-R’s equipment list in a revised form that allows customers to use it four times in a row, before shutting off in order to protect the transmission. Just like the original, the new system (LC4) launches from 4,000 rpm, but it’s better at minimizing wheel spin, making the latest and more powerful (+45HP) iteration of the Japanese sports car a lot faster compared to the 2010MY GT-R in a straight line race. [Updated gallery] The Tokyo Auto Salon is always a blast featuring all sorts of unique tuning proposals, like this here Porsche wannabe. When our Tokyo show man Phil e-mailed the above photo, we assumed it pictured a Porsche -possibly a Boxster- modified to resemble a Panamera Convertible. We were quickly proven wrong, however, when he sent over an image of the interior and some video footage revealing that the Porsche Panamera tune was actually a...masqueraded Nissan 350Z Roadster. Senner Tuning, probably best known for last year's disastrously named "White Power" RS6, has released pictures and details of its latest project car: the Nissan 370Z Asphalt Surfer.
The German tuning house has modified the 370Z with an ECU tune, sports air filter and cold air intake, boosting power to 365 hp (272 kw) and torque to 400 Nm. Twin 63.5 mm (2.5 inch) sports exhaust, door mirror caps / B-pillars capped in carbon fibre and black painting front / rear splitter round out the exterior package.
I've watched this bizarre Nissan Juke ad about four times (that I'll admit to), and I still can't for the life of me get the point. For all intents and purposes, it's about dreaming, energy, and possibly angled at people who are emo/hip or worse; all this while the Juke is on your mind. Here's a video showing a VIP style Nissan sedan -if we're not mistaken, it's a JDM Cedric of the 1990s- with a ridiculous negative camber on the wheels that was caught cruising on the road. VIP or "Bippu" themed cars are based on Japanese domestic market models (usually on RWD drive sedans) and feature oversized rims shod in beefy wheels with an extreme camber, a lowered ride height, prominent exhaust tips and bling-style accessories. A couple of weeks ago we showed a video (see it here) with a Bugatti Veyron crushing a pair 730HP Nissan GT-R Switzer models in a straight-line duel in Moscow, Russia. Now a second video has appeared on the web with some Russian guys pitting the 1,001HP Veyron model once again against the Nissan GT-R at a drag strip.
We don't know if it's the same cars or not, but this time, the Veyron gets its bulbous buttocks whipped by the GT-R. Don't ask us how Godzilla managed to pull that out - maybe it was hooked up to up to a nitrous bottle or something, maybe the Veyron had some sort of problem, we have no idea- but it did. When it comes to straight-line acceleration, there are a few (if any...) street-legal cars in this world that can compete with the VW Group's 1,001-horsepower-strong Bugatti Veyron 16.4 supercar.
As you can see in this video that was most likely shot in Russia, even a pair of heavily-modified Nissan GT-Rs tuned to churn out some 730HP (or so it is claimed) are having a hard time keeping up with the Veyron. Of course, the Bugatti costs as much as two-dozen or so Nissan GT-Rs, but that's another tale for another time... For now, follow the jump to watch the clip.
There's only so much that can be said about a drag race between a Nissan GT-R and the Lexus LFA. It's a traditional competition pitting Japan's two Euro-fighting high-tech supercars against each other in an attempt to figure out which one is faster in the quarter mile.
No matter who's faster, the better buy should be clear. At a $300,000+ price gap, it won't be hard to figure it out; on the other hand, exclusivity has no price.

Germany's Senner Tuning is marketing a new sport exhaust system for the Nissan 370Z sports car. Priced at €1,450 or about US$1,900 at today's exchange rates, the custom made exhaust system comes with 130mm wide oval tailpipes and according to the tuner, aside from producing a more sonorous note, it also adds an extra 16-horsepower raising the 3.7-liter V6's total output to 347HP. Featuring a radical (or controversial, it depends on your point of view) styling, an interior inspired by motorbikes and a range-topping 190HP 1.6-liter turbocharged petrol engine with four-wheel drive, the Qashqai's smaller brother is pitched by Nissan as an alternative to the traditional B-segment hatchbacks (a.k.a. superminis).

The brand-new, seventh generation of the Nissan Patrol had its world premiere in Abu Dhabi on Sunday. The Japanese firm claims that the 2011 model year of its Toyota Land Cruiser rival builds on its history as one of the most capable 4x4s in the market adding a more modern design, enhanced interior comfort and luxury as well as a more powerful V8 powerplant to the equation.
Nissan's product design director, Taiji Toyota (how ironic...), tells us that the Patrol's all-new exterior design, which was previewed by the 2006 Terranaut Concept, is less rugged and more upscale.
"Not as edgy and hardcore as its predecessor, the softer new surfaces are beautiful and add a sense of modernity to the design equation, while still maintaining a ruggedness and commanding road presence" he said.
In similar fashion, the new Patrol's interior is a much more luxurious place to be with the company claiming that since most customers spend less than 15% of the time off-road, it wanted to create "a better, higher quality interior for the whole family".
That translates to a more premium design with generous amounts of leather, polished aluminum and wood grain paneling as well as a bevy of luxury features such as a new multi-screen DVD entertainment system with two rear-facing 7-inch screens embedded into each front seat headrest.
Furthermore, Nissan says that it has improved passenger space with the 2011 Patrol offering over 100mm more legroom for second row passengers, and a roomier third row of seats as well.
The latest generation Patrol is built on a new platform and is offered with a new and more powerful 5.6-litre V8 engine that replaces the previous model's 4.8-liter V8. Featuring direct injection technology, the new V8 produces 400hp and 550Nm of torque. Nissan did not disclose any details on any other future powerplant offerings for the Patrol.
The 5.6-liter V8 engine is linked to a new 7-speed automatic transmission and an upgraded 4WD system that incorporates a variable 4x4 mode package allowing the driver to quickly switch between four drive modes: sand, on-road, snow and rock.
The 2011 Patrol gets a new suspension setup that now employs 4-wheel independent suspension, upgraded from the previous rigid axle setup, while Nissan also equipped the SUV with a Hydraulic Body Motion Control System (HBMC), which is said to reduce body roll during lane-changing and cornering.
Other highlights include the new Hill Start Assist and Hill Descent Control and a revised brake system with new hydraulic brake booster and a 4-piston opposed front caliper setup with larger 358mm front discs.
While the new Patrol will form the base for the 2011 Infiniti QX (see here) - due for launch in North America towards the end of the year or in early 2011- it remains to be seen if Nissan's luxury SUV makes it on this side of the Atlantic.
